APS said it learned of the allegations against Timbrell’s in July, a month after Timbrell resigned his position at the school. After being outed on social media, school officials had to admit they knew about but did not disclose information about the assault at Grandview High School in May.
“My compass in each of these incidents has been protecting our students in every possible way,” Bull said in the statement. “As always, we as a district will review our practices and bring forward our learnings from both of these situations. We will critique our actions and responses in an effort to improve, especially when it comes to ensuring the safety of our students.”
Broderick Jerrod Lundie, 29, was arrested May 4 on sexual exploitation, sexual assault and obscenities charges. Lundie is alleged to have been texting with several students and is accused of illegal sexual contact with at least one student.
