Bob Broom, an RTD director for much of the area the R Line services, said he thought RTD ought to wait a little longer before deciding the ridership isn’t meeting expectations
“The R Line needs one to two years of delivering service to the east and southeast metro communities before assessing performance using service standards and any consideration of service cuts,” the letter said. “It is simply too early to know what true ridership is until residential and other impacts are fully in place.”
I’m not a mass transit specialist, but, hey, clearly, neither is anyone in charge at RTD
Aurora city leaders “strongly oppose” the proposal, arguing in a letter to RTD that the line hasn’t been running long enough to determine whether a reduction is necessary
The coroner said the cause and manner of 35-year-old Saw Eh’s death are still under investigation
“You can’t drop a guy with a walker or a wheelchair on that location at Potomac and have him walk 800 feet into the hospital,” Rogoff said in November 2016.
Here’re the basics, Aurora, if you want to catch the train to any number of destinations in the metro area
The R Line will now join the W Line to Golden, the much-touted-if-not-beleaguered A Line to the airport, and the short-but-sweet B Line to Westminster as the new rails on the block, with others like the G Line to Wheat Ridge and the N Line to Northglenn/Thornton soon to follow suit
You can walk 20 minutes to catch a bus to the train and wait 20 minutes at the bus stop for a 20-minute bus ride for a 30-minute train ride to walk 15 minutes to a bus stop to wait there for 20-minutes for a 15-minute ride to your final destination. And then do the same thing in reverse to get home? Yeah, right.
