Hickenlooper wants the Legislature to approve about $200,000 for the state Air Quality Control Commission to work on the Clean Power Plan.
So now Hickenlooper has climbed on the populist bandwagon, saying he won’t support issues that communities don’t want in their backyard. Oh. Like fracking?
“Both prospective and current marijuana businesses in Aurora have recently had increasing trouble meeting the city’s requirement,” said city spokeswoman Julie Patterson in a statement.
“The governor knows marijuana is part of the conversation in recruiting companies to Colorado, but it has not had any measurable impact to the economy,” his office said in a statement.
“This year we are putting reasonable parameters on where red-light cameras can and cannot be used,” said state Rep. Steve Lebsock, D-Thornton, who is sponsoring a bill that would ban the cameras on the state’s local and collector roads.
At the top of the Democrat’s agenda is a plan to reclassify about $750 million in fees on hospital patients so that sum doesn’t count against state constitutional spending limits and can be spent without asking voters.
“The court did not deny the importance of this issue, nor did it uphold the legality of the attorney general’s actions,” Hickenlooper said.
