It was far from surprising that Colorado Attorney General Cynthia Coffman made good last week on old threats to join 23 other states in suing the EPA to try and stop the government’s push against coal-fired power plants and their clear contribution to global climate change.
Coffman said Friday that she and attorneys general in 23 other states will file a single suit saying the Environmental Protection Agency doesn’t have the authority to require states to enact pollution rules.
“We see this (rule) as very hurtful to farmers and ranchers and we’re going to do everything to stop it politically,” said Don Parrish of the American Farm Bureau Federation, one of several farm and business groups that have filed suit against the regulation.
