As the country has taken a more liberal view of marijuana usage and sales, the country’s top cop has made it known he’s not on board with legal marijuana. Attorney General Jeff Sessions has sounded a remarkably different tone that the Obama Administration’s hands-off approach to the marijuana industry in states like Colorado.
“There’s certain characteristics a person needs to have to do this properly,” Grabak said. “For one, attention to detail; two, consistency. As long as you have those two things … you’re going to be able to do this as good as anybody else out there”
“For 119 of 125 years, we didn’t even acknowledge anybody was homeless in Aurora,” Hogan said. “Now we’re at the point where we have to make some decisions about where to start. This is a long-term effort, this isn’t a one-year effort. We have to have housing, a day-shelter, all of those things.”
“My background is in botany and plant physiology, which made me really comfortable with the (marijuana) production side of things, but I decided to jump in with two feet and see how it goes. It’s gone quite well.”
“We really didn’t think there would be an uptick,” said Arapahoe House CEO Arthur Schut. “In part because we saw a number of people who used illegally prior to legalization.”
The study estimated that total market demand for marijuana in Colorado is about 130 metric tons a year. That’s about 121 metric tons for residents and almost 9 metric tons a year for visitors
