While Aurora hasn’t had many ice rescues, fire crews are hoping to raise awareness about the risks associated with ice.
Aurora firefighters were called to a report of a structure fire at about 4 a.m. May 22 on the 1800 block of North Carson Street near Montview and Sable boulevards. One woman found at the site of the blaze was ransported to a local hospital, where she later was pronounced dead.
“She was blue and looked pretty lifeless to me, so I did a quick assessment. She wasn’t breathing, and I didn’t find a pulse,” Klein said.
Radio traffic from last Friday’s shooting in Aurora, showed emergency personnel struggling to grasp both the scope of the tragedy and mobilize a response.
