Aurora has studied the possibility of annexing 20,000 acres of property east of Monaghan and Hayesmount roads.
When asked whether residents renting their homes through sites such as Airbnb were obtaining business licenses and paying lodger’s tax, City Attorney Mike Hyman said many Aurora homeowners are likely not in compliance with the rules.

Aurora officials are anticipating a large demand for parking with the opening of the 10.5-mile Aurora “R” light rail line set to travel along the I-225 corridor from Nine Mile station and connect with the East Rail line to Denver International Airport.
Andrea Amonick, manager of the AURA, told Aurora City Council members, who act as AURA members as well that the developer needs money to to install utilities and infrastructure and can receive that funding by creating a metropolitan district for the project
Each session would be around two hours and would be held one day every other week.
According to city documents, there is no clear direction on the process for city employees to receive permission to offer testimony to legislative and rule-making bodies.
