“It runs the gamut from kids who have a general interest to kids who can be . almost competitive, portfolio-building,” said Lois Deckelbaum, a summer camp adviser with Tips On Trips and Camps.
“We wanted to create an opportunity for artists of all disciplines to come together and work,” said Hancock, the vocal observer and co-founder of the Aurora-based co-op. “Denver has such a great poetry community that has ebbed and flowed over the years. And poets do a lot in Denver, but not in Aurora, so we wanted to bring something here and give A-Town some love.”
The Aurora Public Schools Board of Education approved Aman STEAM Academy to become a part of the district in 2014, and the school is beginning to ramp up recruitment efforts for its first class of students
