“It’s been a challenge,” said Duane Sinning of the Colorado Department of Agriculture, which regulates hemp growers. The agency is at least a year away from certifying hemp seed — meaning the seed is guaranteed to produce hemp under the legal THC threshold.
“Not only are their flights delayed, but in the case of Delta the website and other places are all saying that the flights are on time because the airline has been so crippled from a technical standpoint,” said Daniel Baker, CEO of tracking service FlightAware.com.
“We’re looking for ways to lower prices, broaden our assortment and offer the simplest, easiest shopping experience because that’s what our customers want,” said Doug McMillon, president and CEO, in a statement. “It’s another jolt of entrepreneurial spirit being injected into Wal-Mart.”
Monday’s announcement notes that the meeting will be “informal.” Still, it is unusual for the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries to come together at the ministerial level outside of their regularly set gatherings.
“Even as economic growth has been lackluster, the job market has remained sparkling bright,” said James Marple, a senior economist at TD Bank.
THE NUMBERS: Applications for unemployment benefits rose 14,000 to a seasonally adjusted 266,000, the Labor Department said Thursday. The four-week average, a less volatile measure, slipped 1,000 to 256,500.
“Taken together they suggest that the immediate impact of the U.K. vote has been muted and the hit to 2016 growth may be limited,” said Cathal Kennedy, European economist at RBC Capital Markets.
Mortgage giant Freddie Mac says the average for the benchmark 30-year fixed-rate mortgage rose to 3.48 percent from 3.45 percent last week. The average rate is down sharply from 3.98 percent a year ago.
