Mud-slinging: The Left’s One-Trick Pony

The Democratic Party is replete with lazy cowards who choose to sling mud rather than debate issues.

Liberals have taken Chicago politics to a whole new level this campaign cycle with baseless accusations suggesting their opponents are unsympathetic, money-grubbing extremists who will feed your grandmother cat food and steal her Medicare benefits and Social Security check before they push her backwards off a cliff without a blindfold.

There’s a certain truth to the old nursery rhyme, “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me,” but in the game of politics, names are like mud, and mud sticks. The Democratic Party is replete with lazy cowards who choose to sling mud rather than debate issues. Why waste one’s energy hurling sticks and stones when slander will do the job without lifting a finger?

The Obama administration has nothing to run on, save a campaign of character destruction, given its deplorable record of supersized governmental policies leading to high unemployment and an economy teetering on the brink of insolvency. As juvenile as it is, mudslinging is the only hand desperate liberals have left to play. They’ve got nothing.

According to Politico, Obama’s plan is to “destroy Romney” utilizing the same methods he’s used in previous races. Former White House deputy press secretary Bill Burton said the campaign will focus on attacking Romney’s character to “portray him as “inauthentic, unprincipled and weird.” Here is weird: to date, liberals have painted presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney as a liar, a miser, a felon, a tax evader, an accomplice to a woman’s cancer death — without a shred of evidence.

Circumstances are no different for Congressman Paul Ryan (R-WI). Prior to being chosen as Romney’s running mate, House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan was already a source of liberals’ angst and a target of their attacks simply because he is a freethinking financial genius who embraces the free market.

Liberals are already hollering Ryan doesn’t have enough private sector experience to be qualified to be Vice President. Prior to his public service, Ryan was employed at a variety of jobs, including a stint driving the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile, making him better qualified than our president was in 2008. And then we have as next in line, Vice President Biden. Biden has his mindless blundering, and Ryan has his arithmetic. You do the math.

Some label Ryan as a flip-flopper for his support of the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) and auto company bailouts Ryan justified as a way to halt the raging economic firestorm. Responding to the Daily Caller, Ryan said he believed the economy was “on the cusp of a deflationary spiral which would have created a Depression” and had that happened, we would have had “a big government agenda sweeping through this country so fast that we wouldn’t have recovered from it.”

With time ticking closer to the November elections, frantic and radical liberals will ramp up their attacks to paint a proven job creator and a budget hawk in the most unattractive light possible in hopes voters will be distracted from the real issues surrounding a failed and visionless presidency.

Always a ‘breath of fresh air’ reading your columns.  Thanks !

Your candidates are exactly what you claim they are not.

So many proverbs, so little time.

Denial is not just a river in Egypt.
If the shoe fits, wear it.
If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it must be a duck.
Methinks thou doth protest too much.
    Call a spade and spade.
    Actions speak louder than words.
    Project much…

    etc, etc, etc…

Another waste of ink by Susan Rubber-Stamp.

You seem to know just about everything, especially the GOP candidates.

Where do you get all of your wonderful information about these people?  I can’t wait to watch and see, must be on a channel or newspaper I don’t receive.

I watch network news, read several national publications and other than far -left sites, information such as you infer only appears there.  You have to be much better informed to make statements like those you posted above,  else you ‘ll be thought a fool.

      • Gouko787

I use a variety of media sources as well.  Including both the Right, Left and “non-partisan” tv, radio and internet sites.  Mostly I tend to watch and listen to the Right leaning media such as Fox.  Funny when the candidates and their supporters tell me what they want to do, I listen,  They Rights is more likely to speak their mind and expose their plans when they fell safe.  Left leaning sights are just that, left leaning.  Right leaning sites are fanatically right.

CSPAN is a great tool.  Voting records and proposals will provide you with some info as well.  You can believe what you will, or think me a fool and I could care less.  We live in a society where you can find whatever evidence you need to back up your beliefs.

The fact that you continually agree with Susan Rubber-Stamp and praise her for just writing down the daily/weekly GOP talking points does not speak well for your objective view of the world.

Did I answer your question or would you like a specific list of the exact sources from which I gather data.  Common sense and patience will provide you a lot of information if you look for consistancy and compare it to action.

You candidate, Mitt Romney has taken every stance on every issue.  Can you deny that?  Paul Ryan, suddendly saw the light when his party was not in control of the White House,  Deny that too?  He is not a fiscal hawkm he is a partisan hack.

Have a great day and thanks for you questions.

budget hawk?  Who is this lady referring to?  Couldn’t be Ryan. . .he voted FOR the invasion of Iraq, TARP, Bush tax cuts, extension of Bush tax cuts, Medicare Part D,
voted against wasteful Pentagon spending, etc.  Doesn’t sound like a budget
    hawk to me.

  • GreenLantern

I don’t think they know what “budget hawk” means…..
I think they think it means someone that votes for creating the biggest budget deficit in the history of the country, then blaming it on Democrats because they don’t have a filibuster proof majority.
Of course I could go on for pages on how hateful the limbugs and the hate-wing radio liars are the real attackers, but there is enough of that hate to go around and anyone could get dozens of examples in a single Google search.
The “big gubmint” lie is telling because she has to KNOW she is lying and still telling it over and over and over again. Just because you keep saying it, does not mean that it will suddenly be magically true. The government has actually been shrinking according to statistics.  (Smaller under Obama then your buddie warmongers and torturers bush and satan ~ I mean cheney)
Too bad rethuglicons are incapable of looking at voting records. They just listen to the flat out lies, without ever checking facts, and then when the rethugs destroy the economy, destroy education, will destroy medicare and medicaid and gamble away and make 40% overhead to billionaires when they privatize Social Security and make it practically worthless, then faux news? and hate-wingers on the radio will tell them to hate the Democrats because it is all their fault that the rethugs voted that stuff away and destroyed all the good things that America used to be.
You get what you vote for, especially when you are incapable of thinking for yourself or doing even the most rudimentary research!

    UGH!
