LETTER: Day, Wildman and Jorgensen for APS Board

We need these very people with their skills and dedication to education to guide our schools.

EDITOR:

I believe experience in education is vital when it comes to our School Board. It is clear when you look at the background of the current candidates that there are only three who will be able to hit the ground running with the expertise APS needs.

Cathy Wildman has already made a difference on the Board, developing policies to ensure accountability and transparency and helping to create the new Strategic Plan. Besides having had a long, successful teaching career, she continues to be a classroom volunteer.

Dan Jorgensen has a doctorate in education and works with education accountability daily. He is a tremendous asset to our district.

Billie Day also has a doctorate in education, specifically in curriculum and instruction.  She will be able to bring the critical eye of a former teacher and expert to the Board.

We need these very people with their skills and dedication to education to guide our schools.
