YOUR NEWS: First responders to be honored by Aurora Rotary

3 to 5 nominees from each Aurora department will be recognized for bravery, dedication to public service and professional performance

AURORA | Outstanding firemen, policemen, 911 communication staff and EMTs will be recognized Sept. 28 at a special luncheon hosted by the Aurora Rotary.

Three to five nominees in each Aurora department will be recognized for their unusual bravery, dedication to public service and outstanding professional performance.

Kimberly Armitage, executive director of the Aurora YMCA and chair of the event, said the all individuals nominated have met the minimum criteria for recognition. “We determine whether each nominee has gone above and beyond their normal job performance,” she said. “Because every nominee will be recognized, we encourage the public to attend and show their support.”

The luncheon will be held from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Denver Airport Convention Center, at 15500 E. 40th St. General admission is $50 per ticket.
