Children’s Hospital Colorado held a painting party for patients, families and staff to create artwork that will be dedicated to the Denver Art Museum (DAM) as a symbolic gesture of their new partnership on May 30.

Children’s Colorado and the DAM have teamed up around the powers of art — its ability to lift spirits, build confidence and create moments of family connections. This new partnership, rooted in the idea that art benefits the whole person, will include creative opportunities at both Children’s Colorado and the Denver Art Museum.

The Ponzio Creative Arts Therapy Program will oversee a mini-mural project, with separate paintings for each letter that spell Art Heals. The Art Heals mural will be on temporary display on June 2 at the DAM when the museum kicks off expanded summer programming for families with a Free First Saturday packed with activities for all ages.
