AURORA | Police continued to search Monday for a woman who investigators say may have been kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend over the weekend.
Bertha Garcia, 23, has not been seen since a little after midnight Saturday when she said goodbye to a friend in the 1900 block of Paris Street.
Police said they believe Garcia’s ex-boyfriend, 32-year-old German Medina, may have abducted her.
Before Garcia disappeared, police say Medina went to his brother’s house and asked to borrow a car and a gun. Medina’s brother gave him his 1997 Lexus two-door, but did not give him a gun.
Police said Garcia was wearing grey pajamas and pink flip-flop sandals when she was last seen. She is 5-foot, 7-inches tall and weighs 125 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, police said.
Investigators believe Medina is wearing a black leather coat. He is 5-feet, 8-inches tall, weighs 140 pounds and has black
hair, brown eyes, and a thin beard.
The Lexus has Colorado license plate 339-WDJ.
Police are asking anyone with information about Garcia or Medina to call Detective Tom Sobieski at 303-739-6710 or call 911. Callers can also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867). Tipsters can earn a reward of up to $2,000.
