AURORA | The Colorado Department of Transportation said Thursday that it would shift southbound lanes of Interstate 225 east to accommodate light rail construction. The traffic alignment will last for nine months.
The two southbound lanes of I-225 will move east between East Mississippi Avenue and Parker Road while crews continue construction on the Yale Avenue bridge and the light rail project through Aurora.
CDOT said traffic on I-225 will be especially slow beginning at 10 p.m. tonight and alternative routes are suggested. Lanes, with the new alignment, will be reopened at 5:30 a.m. on Friday morning.
