AURORA | City officials and outside agencies have formed a committee to help disburse the hundreds of thousands of dollars that have poured in from contributors nationwide.

The city announced today that a newly formed 7/20 Recovery Committee would help distribute the $350,000 in donations among victims of the Aurora theater massacre where 12 people died and 58 were injured.

According to organizers, the committee is composed of volunteers from non-profit organizations, Gov. John Hickenlooper’s office, the Aurora Chamber of Commerce, Aurora Mental Health, school districts and other organizations.

The committee has already helped victims and families with other services such as funeral arrangements, funeral and memorial services, legal and medical services and food and lodging.
