BREAKING: Gateway High School evacuated over bomb threat

In a tweet, police said the evacuation was a 'precaution' but didn’t release further details

AURORA | Gateway High School was briefly evacuated Thursday because of a bomb threat that investigators later deemed wasn’t credible, Aurora police said.

Police said they cleared the school Thursday afternoon and investigated a potential threat, but determined the threat was bogus and the school was safe.

An Aurora Public Schools spokeswoman didn’t immediately return a call for comment.

The school is near East Mississippi Avenue and South Sable Boulevard in central Aurora.
