When war is glorified, there are  violent video games, violence on TV and not proper care of the mentally ill and ridiculous gun laws, etc… this can easily and tragically happen. When are we going to wake up as a nation????

    • http://www.facebook.com/zmolek Andy Zmolek

If you want to help the victims, please don’t drag our tragedy into your cause. It’s bad enough that most of the lessons that really matter here will get hopelessly lost as special interests co-opt this tragedy without any regard to what truly happened, why it happened, and most importantly, what this community (and nation) will need to recover.

      • molly

I understand and appreciate your desire to keep the focus on the victims, but this did not happen in a vacuum. It is not possible to dismiss causes and possible solutions anymore.

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_5V72YUXFAEP2FBHKS2XCKVPVII subgenius73

You say want to focus on why it happened and what this community to will need to recover, out of one side of the mouth and out of the other you tell Veronica not talk about why it happened.  Makes sense.

    Mission accomplished, Rushbo!

“You can’t think that way.  You have to think they’re gonna show up.  You have to count on it. You have to plan for it and come up with a way of neutralizing it.”

Man and woman, hugging, truly saddened, in shock in picture above , while girl in background leaning on red vehicle is grinning ear from ear !!!!!
This is one of the most horrific tragedies EVER ! My heart goes to all involved.
    God bless and comfort everyone.

    • kerryinca

we can’t know what was said, or what she is smiling about.  Calm down.  If she were laughing, and pointing maybe that would be a different story.  Maybe an encouraging word was said, or maybe something was going on behind the camera that we can’t see.  There has to be light even after a tragedy.

    • http://www.facebook.com/annathule Annathule

Maybe she was grinning cuz one of those other two ppl in that pic – or both – are safe and she just found out. I surely wouldn’t be crying at the moment some random pic was snapped if I found out a family member or friend was safe! I’d cry before, I’d cry after, but finding out – heck, I’d be dancing for joy! Think next time.

  • Myra1423

I think this is truly the most heartwrenching picture I have ever seen in my 50+ years on this earth.  I don’t think I will ever forget this image. There can be nothing as horrible as losing a child.  And to lose him on his birthday. I will remember this family for a long, long time.  Prayers to all affected by this terrible, terrible thing.

  • Pennsylvania

Sending prayers and much love to Aurora.

  • Ann Hearnen

Special thoughts and prayers to all involved in this horrible tragedy from fellow Americans and friends in South Dakota.  May you find comfort and peace in knowing there are so many who care.

  • Gumby1800clay

All sad, but the one with the father looking for his son is particularly heart breaking. As for the girl who was smiling, maybe she just saw that one of her friends made it out alive. You never know.

  • LanceThruster

I have a strange feeling of being somehow responsible because the perp was from/born in my part of the state (SoCal – Riverside, CA). I am so sorry for the trauma he caused everyone in Aurora.

I do not know what else to say.

  • Amy in Chicago

My thoughts and prayers are with all of the people in Aurora. There is just no words to describe this horrible tragedy. Everyone here in Chicago are with you all in spirit and prayers. It’s time for justice to be served on this animal!

Vision and Witness… of the “Violet Flame Heart” Aurora, Colorado
    July 22, 2012
It was time for bed, and I sat on the edge of my bed and began to say my nightly prayers. As I was saying my prayers I began to experience the whole room being frozen in time, all had stopped including myself, and then a soft voice said, “You are the witness”. The room in front of me began to part… I could see the Movie Theater in Colorado, and was able to see inside the theater and all twelve souls that had lost their lives, they were all still there.
Then my attention was drawn to the outside of the movie theater and looking very high above the theater, the top part of a very large outline of a Red Vibrant Heart began to appear flowing downward until the bottom tip of the heart extended deep into the ground covering the entire theater. As I watched… In the center of the Heart, a large burst of violet light appeared and the Violet Consuming Flame began to fill the entire Heart, Theater and Grounds.
I turned my head to the right, and could see in the far distance a large beautiful Rainbow Arrow of Light moving very fast toward the Heart. I then turned my head to the left, and saw the killer, James Eagan Holmes. I turned my head back to the right and saw the Rainbow Arrow of Light shoot straight through the Violet Flame Heart, into the killer’s heart. I then looked back to the movie theater and I could see all twelve Souls again, they were at Peace and Happy. The Souls then held each others hand and all began to move upward into the “Light” until they were gone.
I then saw the “Violet Flame Heart” surrounding the movie theater, expand larger and larger until the “Violet Flame Heart” covered all of Colorado.
Then a soft voice said “Let not, hurt nor grief fill your heart, for your love ones are with us now… let love and forgiveness be in your heart now and forever”.
As the vision ended a tear rolled down my cheek… O’ God, thank you for such a beautiful vision.
