Adams County dismisses 2 as drug probe unfolds

DENVER | Adams County says it has dismissed two employees, as an investigation into allegations of drug distribution in the county’s human services department unfolds.

KUSA-TV in Denver reports (http://on9news.tv/Q95Vzl ) the investigation is by the North Metro Drug Task Force. County officials told KUSA on Wednesday that two employees were fired in May, three have been placed on paid leave, and a contractor has placed another worker on paid leave.

KUSA reports the county wouldn’t identify the employees, their job titles, or the contractor.

The district attorney’s office says the employees have been recommended for a diversion program, rather than criminal charges.
