AURORA – The Lyons-Colorado based Planet Bluegrass announced the preliminary lineup today for its Telluride Bluegrass and RockyGrass festivals in 2013. According to Bryan Eyster of Planet Bluegrass, all 4-day passes for Telluride have already sold-out and well as many RockyGrass 3-day passes.
The lineup for the 40th Annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival June 20-23 will include Emmylou Harris with Rodney Crowell. Harris performed with Crowell in her Hot Band at one of the early Telluride festivals. Also on the bill are singer/songwriters Jackson Browne, Feist and Richard Thompson. Progressive bluegrass will be represented by Colorado’s Leftover Salmon, Yonder Mountain String Band and Hot Rize, as well as the Jerry Douglas Band, Punch Brothers, Trampled by Turtles and The Infamous Stringdusters. Also scheduled to play are string wizards Sam Bush, Bela Fleck, Edgar Meyer, Bryan Sutton, Peter Rowan, Natalie MacMaster and Sarah Jarosz. Other headliners will be announced in coming months.
The 41st Annual RockyGrass Festival July 26-28 in Lyons will feature Del McCoury Band, Sam Bush Bluegrass Band, Keller Williams with The Travelin’ McCourys, Tim O’Brien, Andy Statman, Michael Cleveland, and Helen Highwater with other acts to be announced.
