Irish Spirit Returns to Olde Town Arvada at 3rd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival
Green will be in the air on March 15, 2014 when The Historic Olde Town Arvada Association brings another St. Patrick’s Day Festival to the Arvada community. The excitement begins at noon and continues until 6pm, with live music, beer, wine, food, family fun and plenty of shopping options from street vendors. Last year’s festival brought 4,000 people into the streets of Olde Town. Entertainment remains top-notch, with an even heavier Irish influence. Headliners Angus Mohr bring their own brand of Celtic-themed rock ‘n’ roll, while the Bennett School of Irish Dance will take the stage for an interactive performance. Calder’s Revolvers, The Duke Street Kings, and 9’s a Pair will provide additional live music.
“St. Patrick’s Day is just flat-out fun,” states event coordinator Adam Mueller. “We’ve got a great range of activities for all ages and interests. Our event allows people to enjoy the parade in downtown Denver, and then spend the day with great music and a festive atmosphere on the streets of Olde Town Arvada.”
An “Irish Spirit Contest” will encourage festival-goers to dress in their Irish best. Pictures will be taken and posted to Facebook, and online voters will determine the most prize-worthy entries. Historic Olde Town Arvada will be closing down Grandview Avenue just east of Olde Wadsworth Boulevard for the festival. The event perimeter will be fenced to ensure a fun, safe, and relaxed experience. Entry is free of cost and all are invited to come. Tickets to purchase drinks will be sold within the event area. Parking is free, with the best spots available in long-term parking lots near the Jeffco Library and the historic Flour Mill. In the event of heavy snow, March 22nd has been reserved as an alternate date.
