AURORA | Regis Jesuit athletic director John Koslosky announced the hire of a well-known name as the school’s new girls lacrosse coach Friday. After several years under the venerable Billy Corbett, the school chose to go a different direction after the 2017 season and that direction ended up being Kathryn Ames, a former head coach at Cherry Creek and currently a counselor in the Regis Jesuit Boys Division.

Although it was a somewhat quiet postseason for Aurora’s girls lacrosse team, the 2017 season saw continued growth in talent across the city’s seven programs. The 2017 Aurora Sentinel All-Aurora Girls Lacrosse team is selected by the Sentinel in conjunction with balloting of city coaches, reflects that development with six teams landing at least one selection.

AURORA | The following is a look at the players from the Aurora team (Regis Jesuit) and others who were voted all-conference first and second teams and honorable mention in the Centennial League for their play during the 2016 girls lacrosse season.
Aurora had no sparkling won-loss records during the 2016 girls lacrosse season, but the talent across the city shone through. Colorado had only six All-Americans and one of them played for an Aurora school in Regis Jesuit senior Kathleen Roe, a Notre Dame signee.
