It was perhaps the best of many highlights for Cousins, who had 40 points, 22 rebounds and four blocks to help New Orleans down Denver 123-114 on Wednesday night.
NEW YORK | Roger Goodell has signed a five-year contract extension to remain commissioner of the NFL through 2024. A memo from the NFL’s compensation committee to team owners and obtained by The Associated Press confirms that Goodell and committee chairman Arthur Blank, owner of the Atlanta Falcons, have signed the extension.
ENGLEWOOD | The Denver Broncos placed defensive end Derek Wolfe on season-ending injured reserve on Tuesday with a neck injury. Wolfe left the Nov. 26 game at Oakland in the first quarter due to the injury. He played in 11 games this season, with 31 tackles and two sacks.
DENVER | Jack Eichel had a goal and two assists, Evander Kane broke a third-period tie and the Buffalo Sabres beat the Colorado Avalanche 4-2 on Tuesday night. Benoit Pouliot and John McCabe each had a goal and an assist for Buffalo. Robin Lehner stopped 35 shots to help the Sabres end a four-game skid.
