“It’s a disfiguring, inhumane and misguided procedure,” said Eileen Jefferson, an Ulster County veterinarian who does not perform the procedure. She said about 25 percent of cats will be declawed.
“There’s always a need for new options,” said Pachel, who has reviewed some testing data on Sileo but isn’t affiliated with Zoetis.
“I really struggled” is Campbell’s short description of what went down. “I was shocked. There were no second chances. No discussion about it.”
“I was shocked, overwhelmed. I cried,” Dove said in an interview Thursday. “It’s amazing.”
“It’s that problem-solving that comes with finding a way to get the gear to work for an individuals’ specific situation. That’s really what I think we excel at.”
“It kind of seems natural that now that we’ve conquered the people food truck market that we bring that to our faithful furry friends,” Janelle Harding said.
“The message to people who are abusing animals is that there is action being taken,” said Dr. Alison Liu, one of the forensic vets on staff. “And if they’re thinking they may not get caught, that’s not always the case.”
“There is no evidence that the pig was used as bait, and all parties who witnessed the incident felt it was an accident,” the evaluation said. “Although in the video the pig is seen bleeding, the dog’s act was merely a nip and did not tear or bite the skin off.”
