BOULDER | Dominique Collier picked up his offensive play at the right time for Colorado. Collier scored 14 of his 16 points in the second half and Colorado broke open a close game with a late run to beat New Mexico 75-57 on Wednesday night.
COLORADO SPRINGS | Jalone Friday and Tevin Foster scored 14 points apiece and Abilene Christian edged Air Force 62-58 on Wednesday night. Payten Ricks added 11 points, three rebounds and three assists.
LOS ANGELES | The father of UCLA guard LiAngelo Ball says he’s withdrawing his son from school so he can prepare to play in the NBA. LaVar Ball says in a TV interview his “grand plan” is for all three sons to play for the Los Angeles Lakers. LiAngelo, along with fellow freshmen Jalen Hill and Cody Riley, have been indefinitely suspended for their participation in a shoplifting incident during the Bruins’ trip to China last month. They are barred from all team activities.
GREELEY | Jordan Davis scored 27 points and Anthony Johnson had 18 and Northern Colorado took control in the second half for an 87-75 win on Sunday against Division II Western State Colorado.
DENVER | Daniel Amigo scored 22 points with 10 rebounds and Denver topped Wyoming 88-78 on Wednesday night. It was Amigo’s fourth double-double this season for the Pioneers (3-4). Jake Holtzmann added 20 points, Jake Pemberton had 19 points and Joe Rosga had 18 points and led the team with 12 rebounds.
DAVIS, Calif. | Chima Moneke had 17 points and 16 rebounds, and UC Davis closed the game on a 16-0 run for a 56-51 victory over Northern Colorado on Wednesday night.TJ Shorts II added 13 points for UC Davis (4-2). Siler Schneider chipped in 11.
BOULDER | George King is on quite a tear, both as a scorer and rebounder. King scored 25 points for the second straight game and McKinley Wright had 19, helping Colorado pull away in the second half for an 81-69 win over Air Force on Sunday.
COLORADO SPRINGS | Robert Gallinat scored 21 points on 7-of-9 shooting and Pacific used a strong first half to beat Air Force 83-71 Tuesday night to give the Tigers their first win of the season.
